Rolex Submariner 1680 MK3 Dial

Rolex Submariner Date, reference 1680, 1978-1979. Oystersteel, 40mm, automatic, matte black MK3 dial with date. Selected because this late-production 1680 retains its original MK3 dial with uniform vanilla patina and matching hands, a configuration where original dial and hand condition at this level is increasingly difficult to find.
 
Condition
 
Case: The case has been recently refinished with new brushing to the lugs; chamfers and lines remain sharp throughout, with no signs of over-polishing or material loss. Wear is consistent with a well-used example of this age.
 
Dial and hands: The original MK3 dial shows even vanilla patina across the surface. The tritium plots and hands match closely in colour and tone, indicating the hands have not been replaced. No chips, cracks, or moisture damage observed.
 
Bezel: Black aluminium insert present and intact. Graduation and pip legible; light wear consistent with age.
 
Bracelet: Replaced 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end links, correct for this reference. No stretch. Clasp code R10, dating to 1993, consistent with a period replacement. Coronet intact on the clasp.
 
Movement: Calibre 1570, recently serviced by Tempus Uurwerktechniek; running within specification. Service documentation included. No manufacturer warranty applies.
