Rolex Datejust 1601/8

Rolex Datejust 36, reference 1601/8, 1973. 18ct yellow gold, 36mm, automatic, blue sigma dial on leather strap with gilt Rolex pin buckle. Selected because this fully yellow gold example retains its original blue sigma dial in clean condition, a configuration produced during a narrow window in the early 1970s, and is accompanied by the original booklet.
 
Condition
 
Case: Recently refinished with new brushing; case proportions well preserved with no signs of material loss. Fully yellow gold throughout.
Dial and hands: Original blue sigma dial with light, even patina. Hands match in colour and tone. Sigma markers sharp and intact. No chips, cracks, or moisture damage observed.
Bezel: Yellow gold fluted bezel, recut during service.
Bracelet: Leather strap with gilt Rolex pin buckle. Strap shows normal wear consistent with use.
Movement: Calibre 1575, recently serviced; running within specification. Plexi replaced during service. 
Signed: case, dial and movement.
